Downtown Westminster Tech Stroll 2016

On September 10, 2016, Tomlin Technology Computer Repair was proud to take part in the Downtown Westminster Tech Stroll in Westminster, MD. The event featured many local businesses and organizations, especially businesses in the field of technology. Tomlin Technology Computer Repair teamed up with its partner Projected Force Custom Computers to offer event goers free virtual reality demonstrations of the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive virtual reality systems. Some of the other businesses and organizations offered things such as catapult cornhole, big jenga, minecraft and much more. Everyone that attended appeared to have a great time. We are looking forward to many more community events in the near future.

How to Uninstall QuickTime for Windows

Back in April 2016 Apple announced that they will no longer be supporting QuickTime for Windows. Whenever a company stops supporting a product they discontinue updates which means that security exploits will no longer be patched. This is when we first told our clients that the time has come to uninstall QuickTime from their Windows computers. Five months later we still find Windows computers with QuickTime installed. If you don't know how to properly uninstall QuickTime then follow the instructions below. The first thing you need to do is open up Control Panel. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you can get to Control Panel by clicking on Start.
